Panel Thought Leader #1 - Dr. Joann Bliss, Executive Director and Founder Center for Clinical and Forensic Psychology

Dr. Bliss, one of the nation’s most sought after psychologist for impacting the lives of seniors with progressive and professional care of addiction treatment and behavioral health. She has over 30 years’ experience and is a two time speaker at the Florida Assisted Living Coalition Leadership Conference. She has lead multiple modality programs inpatient and outpatient. Her passions include the design and implementation of behavioral care for a patient from detox, to restorative inpatient care in a rehabitlitation facilty to relapse prevention.  Dr. Bliss is an advocate and has an established reputation for excellences.

Dr. Bliss has multiple behavioral health pratforms specializing in addiction treatment; Depression, Anxiety, Eldercare, and family counseling. She will be presenting at the conference along with members of her constituency.

Panel Thought Leader #2 - Susan Acocella, RN, BSN, General Manager, Vitas Innovative Hospice Care

Ms. Acocella, is one of the nation’s oldest and largest providers of end-of-life care.In this role, she manages all apsects of VITAS’ Broward County, Florida, program, overseeing program operations, developing business opportunities, hiring and mentoring new staff, and representing the VITAS throughout the community. The program serves patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families in their homes, nursing homes and assisted living communities. Throughout Broward County. Susan has more than 35 years nursing, marketing, and wellness management experience, including almost 20 years with VITAS. As a native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Suan received a bachelors degree in nursing  from Barry University in Miami. Susan and children enjoy travel, white water rafting hiking and bicycling. Susan in the 2010 recipient of the Florida Assisted Living Coalition Industry ICON award. One of 3 awards given each decade for her integrity, management and unparalled performance.

Susan has mentored and empowered an army of associates all who regard her as having exceptions leadership skills and has made a career of truly caring about people.
